Archivo General de la Nación (Argentina)
Argentina's national archive — immigration and naturalisation above all. Civil registration itself is PROVINCIAL and is not here; the provinces keep their own.

The ground it holds
Record regions whose registers are filed here, and for which years.
- 1889–2026 Argentina — Province of Santa Fe — THE TRAP. Argentine civil registration is PROVINCIAL, not national, and Santa Fe's begins in 1889 — later than Buenos Aires. There is no national index to search and the national archive does not hold it: you must know which province, and then find that province's registry. FamilySearch filmed Santa Fe's.

This map knows Archivo General de la Nación (Argentina) covers AR, but nobody has walked its catalogue into the shelf. That is a gap in this map, not a gap in the record. Help fill it →
