Ireland's Memorial Records online (In Flanders Fields Museum)
Search site for Ireland's Memorial Records, the register of Irish First World War dead compiled by the Irish National War Memorial Committee and published in 1923 in eight volumes, about 49,000 names (49,435 in one account). The site appears to be run by the In Flanders Fields Museum in Ypres, which holds an original set; it adds corrected burial or commemoration details for more than 10,000 men recorded as dying in France who fell in Belgium. Entries usually carry rank, regiment, service number and date of death. The register is incomplete and contains omissions, duplicates and errors, mostly for the Navy, Air Force and colonial regiments, and it left out Irish-born men who served in non-Irish units.
