Service historique de la Defense (France)
The French Ministry of the Armed Forces' historical service, with sites at Vincennes, Cherbourg, Brest, Lorient, Rochefort, Toulon, Caen, Pau and Chatellerault. The home page names officers' individual files among its most consulted holdings and offers a search of its archive inventories and access to digitised archives; the page read does not say what it holds before 1789.
